Any tribute to Thomas Telford would have to include the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. It is a unique way of viewing Welsh scenery, an unusual part of the Offa's Dyke Path, an exciting feature of the Llangollen Canal, a vital link in the days of the Industrial Revolution and an even more vital link in the water supply to South Cheshire today. So, whether your theme is History or Leisure, Engineering or Ecology, Heritage or Personalities, the Aqueduct is the star and our narrowboat Eirlys is a wonderful platform from which to showcase it's majesty.
In 2009, the Aqueduct was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites.
Researchers should ring Peter Jones on 01691 690322 to discuss possibilities.
